Romelu Lukaku came off the bench and inspire Chelsea to a remarkable comeback victory over Aston Villa as the Blues claimed an important three points in their pursuit of Champions League qualification. Trailing 1-0 to a goal from Leon Bailey, Chelsea responded with two goals from Jorginho and a late winner from Lukaku to secure the win.
Aston Villa took the lead against the run of play in the first half as Bailey capitalized on a defensive error to fire past Kepa Arrizabalaga. Chelsea dominated possession for much of the game but struggled to create clear-cut chances until the introduction of Lukaku.
With the game approaching stoppage time, Jorginho equalized for Chelsea with a penalty after Callum Hudson-Odoi was fouled in the Villa penalty area. Deep into stoppage time, Lukaku scored the winning goal, heading home a cross from Marc Cucurella to seal the victory for Chelsea.
