Bernardo Silva's Late Goal Keeps Manchester City's Double Hopes Alive

City Secure 1-0 FA Cup Semi-Final Victory Against Chelsea

City will face Liverpool in the final on May 28

Bernardo Silva's late goal kept Manchester City's double hopes alive after Pep Guardiola's side secured a 1-0 FA Cup semi-final victory against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The Portuguese midfielder struck in the 70th minute to settle a tight contest and book City's place in the final against Liverpool on May 28.

It was a hard-fought win for City, who were made to work hard by a resilient Chelsea side. However, Guardiola's team ultimately showed their quality to secure a deserved victory.

City started the game brightly and created a number of chances in the opening stages. However, they were unable to find a way past Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea also had their moments in the first half, with Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic both coming close to scoring. However, City goalkeeper Ederson was in inspired form and kept the Blues out.

The second half continued in the same vein, with both teams creating chances but unable to find the breakthrough.

However, City eventually found the winner with 20 minutes remaining. Silva received the ball on the edge of the area and turned inside before firing a low shot into the bottom corner.

Chelsea pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages, but City held firm to secure their place in the final.

The victory keeps City's hopes of a domestic double alive. They are now just one win away from retaining the FA Cup and have a six-point lead over Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
