Coach Smart Led Georgia to their First National Championship in 41 Years in 2021
After guiding the University of Georgia Bulldogs to their first national championship in over four decades, head coach Kirby Smart has agreed to a new 10-year contract that will keep him at the helm of the program through the 2032 season.
Smart's leadership has transformed Georgia into one of the most dominant teams in college football. Under his guidance, the Bulldogs have won two SEC Championships (2017, 2022) and reached the College Football Playoff six times, including back-to-back appearances in 2021 and 2022 that resulted in a national title and a runner-up finish.
The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 1 in the nation and poised to make another run at the national championship this season. With two games remaining in the regular season, Georgia needs just two more victories to secure its second consecutive SEC title and clinch a berth in the College Football Playoff.
